White camphor essential oil is harvested from the iconic evergreen camphor tree native to China and recognised by its small white clustered flowers and red berries. Some of these ancient trees have been recorded as being more than one thousand years old.
White camphor essential oil blends well with basil, cajuput, chamomile, lavender and melissa, caraway, pennyroyal and rosemary. Its strong, top note aroma has a cool lasting effect and its many natural properties make it useful in a number of different ways.
Historically, the oil was used for embalming purposes in ancient China and Japan and was also used to fight the Persian plague in the 14 th
century. The Chinese used camphor wood to build ships and temples impressed by its durability and aromatic properties. The oil is only ever harvested from trees that are at least 50 years old.
