Bronzite is a bronze-like sub-metallic lustre variety of enstatite. Bronzite is a golden brown colour that shimmers in the light. Ancient Romans made use of it to protect themselves from mental illness. This variety is formed through weathering.
Bronzite consists of of magnesium and magnesium iron silicates. These are considered to be the ferriferous variety of enstatite.
